## What the Employment History API does

Employment History returns the sequence of jobs recorded against a Universal Account Number: each employer, the dates of joining and leaving, and the member details filed alongside them.

The value is in the pattern rather than any single row. Gaps, very short stints and overlapping employers are all visible at a glance, and all of them are things a self-declared CV can quietly omit.

## Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a UAN?

The Universal Account Number is the permanent identifier EPFO issues to an employee. It stays with the person across employers, which is what makes a continuous history possible.

What if I only have a mobile number?

Use Mobile to UAN first to resolve the number to a UAN, then call this endpoint.

Are jobs without provident fund coverage shown?

No. Employment that never generated a provident fund filing leaves no record here, so the absence of a period is not proof the person was unemployed.
