What the IP Quality Check API does
IP Quality Check evaluates an IP address and returns its Autonomous System Number, ISP, geographic location and any indicators of malicious activity associated with it.
The risk indicators are the operative output. An address associated with a VPN, proxy, hosting provider or known abuse is a meaningful signal, particularly when a customer's stated location contradicts where the connection appears to originate.

Why does hosting infrastructure matter?
Genuine consumers connect from residential or mobile networks. A connection from a data centre usually means automation or an anonymising service.
Should VPN use block a customer?
Not on its own; plenty of people use VPNs legitimately. Weigh it with other signals rather than treating it as decisive.
How accurate is the location?
Good at country level, approximate below that. Treat it as a signal, not proof.
